Another Old Theater ~ Sunday, May 16, 2021
Kids 12+ are now eligible for COVID vaccinations, and we got Nate an appointment as quick as we could. Everywhere close by filled up before we could even check, but we got him scheduled as a Walgreens in San Francisco--which turned out to be at 30th and Mission, right by my old bus stop.
So, Friday morning, he got his first shot, and afterwards we celebrated with a trip to Mitchell's, around the corner, and then stopped by my parents. Later we checked out some sights around town (there's a giant Ferris Wheel in Golden Gate Park now), and visit Gamescape on Divisadero. A block away we saw this building, now a church, but which had a definite theater look.
My suspicion was confirmed by an entry in the San Francisco Theater Blog. It was called the Garden, Halcyon, and Park theaters at various points in its original career.
