We found this mural walking around Hayward, CA (specifically, walking from Wienerschnitzel to the Hayward Japanese Gardens).

Russell City was a former community in Hayward which was destroyed by urban renewal in the 1960's to build an industrial park. After saying that, it's probably unnecessary to add that it was a working-class African-American and Latino community. There is an book about it in Arcadia Publication's "Images of America" series.
